Welcome to the Allen Parish Library
Allen Parish's first branch was established in Oakdale, La. in 1957. Now serving Allen Parish with Oberlin, Kinder, Oakdale, & Bookmobile Outreach branches. In addition, we also have a van outreach route that services rural communities, nursing homes, and prisons. Our headquarters is located in Oberlin, La. The Allen Parish Library is home to a vast selection of books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, audio collections, and research materials. We also offer internet access at each of our library branches.
The mission of Allen Parish Library is to provide our citizens with high-quality programming and resources that will promote a love of reading, develop life-long learners, and encourage community growth.
The Allen Area Library's objective is to give way to deal with thoughts, data, and encounters that help and upgrade lives for individuals of any age, capacity and means. We're something beyond a supplier of free materials. Our Libraries unite a huge number of assets and valuable open doors for all to appreciate. We're continuously attempting to address the issues of our supporters and stand dedicated to assuming a vital part locally.

Bookmobile Outreach
Our Bookmobile makes scheduled stops in the outlying areas of Allen Parish. During Bookmobile stops, anyone may check out items from the bus (it’s a library on wheels). You can also request items in advance from our libraries and pick them up during scheduled stops. Scheduled stops often include programs and activities for youth, as well as a friendly conversation with your favorite outreach librarians.
