Applying for a Library Card
Full Access Card Application
Library cards are free to all first-time applicants. You must, however, have valid photo identification when registering. If you have misplaced your library card there is a $1 replacement fee. Patrons under the age of eighteen must have their parent or guardian register them for a card.
To receive a library card:
- Fill out an application in person at any of our three Allen Parish Libraries branches (Oakdale, Oberlin, Kinder) or
- Download the application, fill it out and bring it in to any of our locations.
Electronic Use Only
Electronic Access Only cards are available for patrons who only wish to use the computer reservation system or other online databases. Photo identification is only required to obtain an Electronic Access Only card. Additionally, Libraries Southwest cards are available to residents of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis and Vernon Parishes. We also offer temporary Allen Parish Libraries cards for patrons who reside outside of the parish.
Louisiana Southwest Card
Libraries Southwest cards are available to residents of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and Vernon Parishes. You will need a Photo ID and Proof of Address to apply for this card.
Returning Library Materials
Renewing Library Materials
Library materials may be renewed a maximum of two times. Materials for which there are pending holds or reserves, however, may not be renewed. If the item you renew is overdue a fine will be posted to your account.
You may renew materials online by accessing your Patron Account through Allen Parish Libraries Online Catalog. Renewals may also be done over the phone or in person at any Allen Parish Libraries branch.
