Reading helps build social and emotional skills, sparks creativity and imagination, promotes bonding, and helps kids do well overall in school. Take that motivation, open one book, and get started. And remember, 1000 is just a number. The goal is to work reading aloud into your regular routine, and let the magic of stories do the rest. Complete the challenge before kindergarten and earning badges and a prize.


100 Books Before Graduation

Grades: 1st Grade- 12th Grade

Read a 100 books before graduation is an ongoing challenge to keep track of your reading, encourage you to try different genres, and explore new library resources! Complete the challenge by reading a 100 books before graduation and earning badges along with a prize.


Poetry Reading Challenge

Poetry can motivate us to find beauty, hope, and power, no matter what we encounter.

This April, Allen Parish Libraries challenge you to read 10 books from young poets and complete the activity listed. Once completed you'll earn badges along with a prize.
